A total of about 4,000 trees will be planted

Arbolia, the new benefit company created upon initiative of Snam and Cassa depositi e prestiti (CDP) to encourage the creation of new green areas in Italy, today started works on its first two urban forests.

Operations will be carried out in Parma, a city particularly committed to environmental sustainability and Italy's 2020-2021 culture capital, and are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
In particular, approximately 4,000 plants will be planted in two districts in the southern area of the city ("Cinghio Sud" and the area adjacent to the Eurosia shopping center). Among the species to be planted are maple, hornbeam, plane trees, elm, cherry, hackberry, ash and lime trees. The intervention will allow to absorb about 335 tons of CO2 per year and about 1,200 kg of PM10, thus helping to improve air quality.

The initiative, which stems from a collaboration between Arbolia and the Municipality of Parma, was realized thanks to the contribution of two local companies, Max Streicher SpA and Impresa Tre Colli SpA.
